My favorite track from I Hear A New World, Joe Meek's amazing 1960 EP of experimental music, based on his ideas of other life in the solar system.
The Bublight is far out and trippy, my favorite moment takes place around 1:10 - 1:18, when the guitar just fuses into this extended layer of sound.
But what is a Bublight? Some kind of space beer? Nope. According to the liner notes from the EP, the Bublight "is a wonderful sight...people travel from great distances to dance in the coloured rays...giving the people the belief that it casts a magic spell over them for the next six months and safeguards them from evil." To some, a drunken dance in the light of a neon beer sign might produce some similar beliefs...for the next six hours or until they pass out.
Note: the youtube video lists the artist as the Bluesmen. This is incorrect.
