This song was written and originally recorded by Tim Hardin. It's an aching James Dean misunderstood loner story. Scott Walker's version isn't necessarily better, but his plaintive baritone blended with the orchestral treatment creates a mood that I find more appealing. I don't know what the movie is in the youtube video, but it seems to match up well with the song.
